Booking Your Session at Heartwood

Every session is unique - we try our best to gauge required setup time appropriately based on all communicated information on ensemble, instrumentation, style, repertoire, tech, and more.

Here are some questions to consider: How many performers, and who will be playing what instrument? Are the instruments acoustic or electric? What style or sound are you going for? How much music are you hoping to record? Does the instrumentation differ between songs/pieces? If so, how? Do you require use of specific studio resources like amps or instruments? Will there be a video component?

Provided with the right information ahead of time, we can set up to better suit your needs, as well as more effectively estimate required setup time and advise on when musicians should begin to arrive for soundcheck and additional setup (ex: personal amps, drums). This leads to a more efficient session and a more streamlined experience overall.

If your session involves the studio piano, it will be tuned before the session to ensure quality of recorded and released matieral. An additional $120 covers this essential service.

We use a triple-redundancy backup system to ensure the safety of all active digital projects. Despite these precautions, the long term storage of master recordings is the responsibility of the client.
